Advertising and AdMob
This website carries no advertising. Some applications do, and this is how.
Free applications are paid for by advertising. That is a trade, and it deserves to be described rather than buried: what serves the ads, what data reaches the ad network, when you are asked, and how to say no without losing the app.
In effect October 9, 2026
- typotouches.com itself shows no ads and sets no advertising cookies.
- Apps that show ads use Google AdMob, and ask for consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
- Children’s apps serve non-personalised ads only, with no advertising identifier.
On this website: none
There is no ad slot, no ad script, no advertising cookie and no affiliate tracking on typotouches.com. The links to Displate, Amazon and Google Play are plain links to the studio’s own listings, without affiliate parameters — they exist to take you to the shop, not to tag you on the way.
In the applications: Google AdMob
Applications that display advertising use Google AdMob, Google’s mobile advertising service. The studio does not run its own ad server, does not build audience profiles and never receives your name, your email address or your contacts from an ad. What the studio receives is aggregated: how many ads were shown, and what they earned.
To deliver, cap and measure those ads — and to detect fraud and invalid traffic — Google may process data such as the advertising identifier your operating system provides, the app the ad was shown in, coarse device and network information, and an IP address. Google acts as an independent controller for that processing, under the Google Privacy Policy and its advertising terms. The studio’s Privacy Policy covers everything else.
- The advertising identifier is a resettable, device-level ID your operating system gives you control over — it is not tied to a Google account by the studio, and it can be reset or deleted at any time.
- Ads are served by Google and its certified partners; the list of those partners is published by Google and is available from the consent form itself.
- Some applications also embed Meta Audience Network, which competes for the same ad slots through AdMob’s mediation. Meta then processes the same kind of data as its own controller, under the Meta Privacy Policy; the consent form covers it, and refusing personalised ads applies to it as well.
- No ad in a TypoTouches app collects data on the studio’s behalf.
Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
Where the ePrivacy rules and the GDPR apply, an app shows a Google-certified consent form on first launch, before any personalised ad is requested. You can accept, or refuse and keep using the app: refusing means the ads become non-personalised, not that the app stops working.
That choice is not final. Each app that shows the form also offers a way back to it — usually “Privacy options” or “Ad settings” in the app’s own settings screen — so consent can be withdrawn as easily as it was given.
Applications for children
Several of the studio’s applications are made for children, and they are held to Google Play’s Families policy and to children’s privacy law such as COPPA. In practice that means: ads are non-personalised, the advertising identifier is not used for that audience, only ad networks certified for the Families programme are permitted, and there is no interest-based advertising or remarketing to a child.
The studio does not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided some, write in and it will be deleted — see the Data Deletion page.
Your controls
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads, where you can reset the advertising ID or delete it entirely. Deleting it stops personalised advertising across every app on the device.
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, where an app must ask before it can track and can be refused for good.
- Google account holders: adssettings.google.com turns personalised ads off across Google’s services.
- In the app: reopen the privacy or ad settings screen to change a consent choice.
- Californian residents: see Your Privacy Choices, which covers the “sale” and “sharing” definitions that personalised advertising can fall under.
Turning personalisation off does not remove the ads and does not degrade the app — it makes the ads less relevant and less valuable, which is a trade the studio would rather you make knowingly than not at all.
How to reach the studio
Write to the studio through the contact form at https://typotouches.com/contact. A request about personal data is answered within 30 days.
TypoTouches is an independent creative studio, also listed on the shops as Typotouches Ess. It is the data controller for this website and for the applications it publishes.
Common questions
Do TypoTouches apps show ads?
Some do. Applications that display advertising use Google AdMob, which may process the device advertising identifier and coarse device information to deliver and measure ads. Apps made for children serve non-personalised ads only.
How do I stop seeing personalised ads in a TypoTouches app?
Reopen the app’s privacy or ad settings screen and withdraw consent, or reset or delete the advertising identifier in your device settings — on Android, Settings → Privacy → Ads. The app keeps working; the ads simply stop being personalised.
Does typotouches.com show ads or use affiliate links?
No. The website carries no advertising, no advertising cookies and no affiliate tracking. The shop links point directly at the studio’s own listings.
Questions about any of this go to the studio directly — the contact page reaches a person, not a queue.
